Kaitlyn Mark
Bio
Born in Bellevue, Washington, Kaitlyn was intrinsically involved in the world of family law before she ever knew it. Just days after being born, Kaitlyn was adopted by her parents and older sister, who was adopted 2 years prior from Hong Kong. Kaitlyn grew up in Sammamish where her parents remain in her childhood home. Growing up, Kaitlyn was heavily involved in sports including gymnastics, swimming, soccer, basketball, and track & field.
Following in her family’s footsteps, Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Washington in 2013 with a degree in Law, Society & Justice. While in college, Kaitlyn reconnected with her biological family and evolved from “little sister” to “also big sister” to her five younger half-siblings. Reconnecting and developing a close relationship with her biological family played a pivotal role in her choice to attend law school.
In 2016, Kaitlyn started her law school journey at William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In addition to the obvious reasons that one would want to relocate to the Aloha state, Kaitlyn intentionally chose Richardson Law School to connect with her native Hawaiian roots. During law school, Kaitlyn worked as a law clerk for then-Deputy Chief Judge, Superior Family Court Judge Catherine Remigio. Kaitlyn also interned at a downtown Honolulu law firm practicing in family law. After graduating with her Juris Doctorate in 2019, Kaitlyn became an associate attorney at the same firm. While her focus was on family law, Kaitlyn also gained invaluable experience in civil litigation including condominium and community association law, commercial litigation, and class action construction defect litigation.
Kaitlyn moved back home in December 2021 after missing temperatures below 60 degrees (and to be closer to family). She currently resides in Redmond, Washington and works with clients throughout King and Snohomish County on legal services including high conflict divorce, legal separation, minor guardianships, paternity, child relocation, parenting plan modifications, property division, domestic violence, protection orders, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
